Full-Time Islamic Courses
The Darul Uloom has three main faculties of studies in order to cater for the social, cultural, moral, spiritual, intellectual and physical development of our students. The coursework prepares students to become upright citizens with the aptitude to become Imams (Priest), school teachers and administrators of Islamic Institutions.
Dars-e-Nizami is a comprehensive seven-year curriculum widely implemented in Islamic seminaries (madrasas) and educational institutions. This traditional Islamic education program offers extensive religious and theological education. Its structure encompasses various Islamic sciences and disciplines, enabling students to gain a well-rounded understanding, practice, and propagate the teachings of Islam.
The curriculum encompasses a wide range of subjects, including but not limited to:
- Quranic Studies: This involves the recitation, memorization, and understanding of the Quran, as well as the study of its linguistic and grammatical aspects.
- Hadith Studies: Students learn about the compilation, classification, and authentication of Hadith literature, as well as the significance of Hadith in Islamic jurisprudence.
- Fiqh (Jurisprudence): Students study the principles of Islamic law, including rituals, ethics, transactions, family law, and more.
- Aqeedah (Theology): This subject explores the fundamental beliefs of Islam, discussing topics such as the nature of God, angels, prophets, and the afterlife.
- Tafsir (Quranic Exegesis): Students delve into the interpretation and commentary of the Quranic verses to gain a deeper understanding of its meanings.
- Arabic Language: Arabic is a central component of the curriculum, as it is the language of the Quran and Hadith. Students study Arabic grammar, syntax, and literature to facilitate their understanding of Islamic texts.
- Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Jurisprudence): This subject deals with the methodology and principles used in deriving Islamic rulings from the primary sources of Quran and Hadith.
- Seerah (Prophetic Biography): Students learn about the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, gaining insights into his character and actions.
Upon successful completion of the Dars-e-Nizami program, students are awarded the degree that reflect the student’s mastery of the curriculum. This degree signifies the student’s accomplishment and recognition as an Alim/Fazil (someone who has attained a level of proficiency in Islamic scholarship and has completed a program of study of Dars-e-Nizami curriculum).
It’s important to note that the titles and qualifications can vary between different seminaries and regions. The Dars-e-Nizami program is highly respected within the Islamic education system and has produced many scholars and leaders throughout history.
The “Diploma in Memorization of the Holy Quran” is a comprehensive and structured educational program designed to facilitate the memorization (Tahfiz) of the entire Quran, the sacred scripture of Islam. This program is tailored to help students develop a deep and meaningful connection with the Quran while mastering the art of memorization.
The duration of the program can vary depending on the individual’s pace and dedication. Typically, the course is designed to be completed within a two to three years, but some students may take longer or shorter periods based on their capabilities. Initially the students start with Noorani Qaida. Anwaar-Ul-Qari and Talim-Ul-Islam is also taught concurrently with this course.
The program follows a structured curriculum, which includes the following key components:
- Tajweed (Quranic Recitation Rules): Students will learn the rules of Tajweed, which govern the correct pronunciation and articulation of the Arabic letters in the Quran. Proper Tajweed is essential to maintain the purity and authenticity of the Quranic text.
- Memorization Techniques: Various memorization techniques and methodologies will be taught to help students effectively retain and recall Quranic verses. These techniques involve repetition, association, and review mechanisms to strengthen memory retention.
- Recitation Practice: Students will engage in regular recitation practice to improve fluency and accuracy in memorized portions. Reciting in front of qualified instructors will ensure proper guidance and correction of any mistakes.
- Personalized Guidance: Students will receive individualized attention and mentoring from experienced teachers, who will closely monitor their progress and provide support throughout the memorization journey.
- Evaluations and Assessments: Regular evaluations and assessments will be conducted to track students’ progress and identify areas for improvement. These evaluations ensure that the students are on track to achieve their memorization goals.
Upon successful completion of the program and memorization of the entire Quran, students will receive a Diploma in Memorization of the Holy Quran. This certification signifies the student’s accomplishment and recognition as a Hafiz (a person who has memorized the Quran).
Overall, the Diploma in Memorization of the Holy Quran program aims to preserve the Quranic tradition and produce individuals who can recite and preserve the sacred text, ensuring that it continues to be passed down through generations with authenticity and precision.
This two-year part-time program is designed for students in Years 11 and 12 who wish to deepen their understanding of Deeniyaat (religious studies). The course integrates the memorization of selected Surahs from the Holy Quran, and comprehensive exploration of the Deeniyaat and Taalim and Tarbiyat curriculum. Students will also develop practical skills in delivering sermons, leading daily and special prayers, and delivering speeches.
Curriculum Highlights:
1. Memorization of Selected Surahs from the Holy Quran
• Students will engage in the memorization of specific Surahs from the Holy Quran, fostering a deep connection with the divine text.
• Emphasis on Tajweed (proper pronunciation) and Tarteel (beautiful recitation) techniques will be integrated into the memorization process.
2. Deeniyaat Studies
• In-depth exploration of the Deeniyaat curriculum, covering topics such as Islamic theology, jurisprudence, and spirituality.
3. Taalim and Tarbiyat
• Integration of Taalim and Tarbiyat principles to instill ethical and moral values.
• Practical application of Taalim and Tarbiyat through case studies, discussions, and real-life scenarios.
4. Sermons and Speech Delivery
• Training in the preparation and delivery of sermons on various Islamic topics.
• Development of public speaking skills through the crafting and delivery of speeches on moral, ethical, and spiritual subjects.
5. Practical Skills
• Hands-on experience in leading daily prayers, Friday sermons, and special prayers.
• Guidance on maintaining composure and eloquence during prayer leadership.
6. Community Engagement
• Encouragement of community involvement through outreach programs, charitable activities, and collaborative projects.
• Practical application of learned principles in community settings.
This comprehensive two-year program seeks to provide students with a holistic understanding of Deeniyaat, and practical skills necessary for leadership within the community. Upon completion, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute actively to their local Muslim communities and beyond.
Upon successful completion of the two-year program, students will receive a certificate recognizing their dedication to the study of Deeniyaat and their commitment to spiritual and personal.
Part-Time Islamic Courses
The Institute offers a variety of part-time Islamic courses suitable for students of all ages, from school-going children to working adults. These courses are structured into easily understandable lessons, with classes scheduled at convenient times to accommodate everyone's needs.
The Part-Time Maktab is designed for school-aged children and operates during the afternoons after school and on Saturdays. This program aims to provide a comprehensive Islamic education, including:
- Basic Islamic knowledge
- Fluency in reading the Qur’aan with Tajweed
- Understanding of Deeniyaat and Salaah
- Lessons in Islamic history
- Learning to recite praises of Allah and the Prophet (S.A.W)
These classes are open to both male and female youth students.

To provide the mothers and sisters of our community with religious and spiritual education, Madrasa Aisha Lil Banaat has been serving the Muslim community for several years. We offer various courses for women, including Fiqh classes, Qur’an and Tafseer classes, and other subjects related to religious education.

Our adult male Maktab classes focus on essential aspects of Islam, including Noorani Qaida, Qur’an, Salah, and other fundamental teachings. These classes are designed to enhance religious knowledge and practice among adult men in our community.
